Tennille Carter
(CEO & Founder)

I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree, became a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB.org), earned certification in QuickBooks, and built the expertise I would need to found Atlanta Bookkeeping Solutions, LLC in 2007. In 2024, the firm was rebranded as Atlanta Business Services to reflect our expanded suite of services beyond bookkeeping, including accounting, fractional CFO support, HR consulting, and business advisory solutions.

My passion is helping small businesses thrive—a commitment reflected in every aspect of our work. We focus on one of the most vital yet often overlooked areas of business management and growth: day-to-day record keeping. Most people do not realize that this daily practice is critical to long-term business excellence. Our consistency and expertise help metro-Atlanta businesses not just survive, but grow stronger and more profitable.

This dedication has been recognized through multiple honors, including the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs, Inc. (ACE), and the 2022 Ripple Effect Award, celebrating leaders who create lasting positive impact in their communities.

Beyond business, I love playing sports, traveling, and spending time with my family. Work is meaningful, but it is only one part of a great life. You’ll find that everyone on my team is not only qualified and reliable, but also approachable, easy to reach, and even fun to work with.

I have a great amount of experience in finances. My ability to help others so well is because of my attention to detail. I can see little things, bring attention to them and aid in resolving the problem. I am extraverted and enjoy being around the team and having the opportunity to talk and laugh while we work together to help business owners in their businesses. I’m happily married to my husband and extremely proud that we were able to become homeowners days before the pandemic hit. This gave us plenty of time to settle in and enjoy our new home.

Because of my knowledge and love of numbers, one of my biggest goals is to become debt free. This will allow me to achieve my goal of owning a farm with plenty of my favorite animals. One of those animals being cats, which ironically I’m allergic to but that won’t stop me from loving them. I have a deep love for reading. I mostly enjoy diving into nonfiction pieces, though I’ll read a nice thriller every now and again. I also enjoy doing calligraphy in my free time, it’s super calming and I love seeing my progress the more I practice.

I started my bookkeeping journey in St. Maarten in the year 2012, where I worked with PCMI Accounting and Solutions Accounting gaining much experience with QuickBooks, Payroll and Tax Preparation. That journey paused in 2017 when I migrated to the United States of America. I reinitiated in 2023 working with Sincerity Consulting Firm LLC and Norman Ross CPA located here in Atlanta, Georgia and now I’m here with ABS. I received my Accounting & Finances certifications from the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA) which is based in London, UK. Just a little insight as to why I studied with ACCA in London. My mom lives in London and my decision earlier in life was, I wanted to live and finish my career in London. I decided to start there, but didn’t go as planned. I also did other certifications such as QuickBooks, Payroll and Consultant Risk Management in St. Maarten.

Bringing to the team my experience along with reliability, accountability and passion for Bookkeeping & Accounting, being not afraid to roll up my sleeves to take on whatever tasks necessary to support my team, achieving the best results for our clients. One of my greatest professional accomplishments was achieved with Atlanta Bookkeeping Solutions. The freedom and flexibility of working from home allowed dramatic improvement to my work-life balance with less commute stress and I found myself to be more productive in my own custom work environment.

My hobbies and personal life includes gardening and spending time with family. Auditing has been a huge part of my professional goal since I started this journey and would love to venture into that field in the future. A personal goal is to build a greenhouse where I can grow my own food.

I graduated looking for a position where I could put as much of my knowledge and energy to work in the best way possible. In this HR role, I can work closely with my team members as we all grow in our professional aspirations. I aspire to blossom in my role of helping others grow themselves and help clients grow their businesses with the best resources ABS can provide and build great lasting relationships along the way. I enjoy weight training and reading in my free time.

“I have completed 20 years of experience, bookkeeping for small businesses. Some include Superior Business Management, Davis Pechter & Associates , Streetside Classics, Endeavor 3D. I was previously certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for several years. I’ve been able to succeed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. When it comes to my role at ABS, I’m experienced in client relationships and understand the importance of serving the client to the best of my ability. I have very good knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop versions as well as other accounting platforms, making me a great addition to the team.”

“Outside of work, I enjoy being a member of the Beulah Ruritan Club. I am proud to say that I was able to help restart and manage a local park owned by the Ruritans, which serves the needs of the local community. Other interests include spending time with my grandchildren and reading. To mention some professional accomplishments, I would mention working closely with the accountant and IRS to regain tax exempt status for the above mentioned Ruritan Park. Also, keeping a previous company on track with client work after they were experiencing a period of high turnover and change. When it comes to business goals, I am working my best to meet the needs of the clients of ABS. Although personally, I would like to continue to work to improve the Ruritan Park to make improvements that the local community can enjoy and facilitate the return of more youth activities to the park.”

“I started diving into accounting when I decided to pursue my interest in numbers in 2012. I graduated with an Applied Science Degree in Accounting in 2013. I spent the majority of my years in the customer service and cash management fields where I earned awards like employee of the month through my dedication to hard work. When I elected to take on a role with this amazing firm, I came aboard as an administrative assistant but decided to gain more knowledge to become a bookkeeper.

“Becoming a bookkeeper has brought great joy to my life. I can use my analytical, problem-solving skills to work with clients and help them keep track of their finances and find solutions to any financial problems that may occur. I can take on the responsibility of helping small businesses achieve success. My attention to detail has been sharpened through this process, and it has helped create great outcomes for our clients.”

“I have aspirations to work my way into intrapreneurship and co-own a company to be able to lead and help those within the organization. I enjoy going on vacations and road trips with my family and playing PC and mobile game apps in my free time.”
